Workshops available with an intense but playful exploration of working in the techniques of encaustic. This ancient form of painting has become increasingly popular in the art world for its unique characteristics and endless possibilities! Experience creating with hot bees wax and heat combined with your imagination to take your work to a whole new level! Two teachers, Kandy Lozano and Lisa Semler will be instructing these small intimate workshops sharing our years of experiences, in depth demonstrations & one on one personal instruction- allowing generous time for individual experimentation and expression.

The studio setting is at the amazing Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu which is a destination in itself! Surrounded by the beauty of the Santa Monica mountain reserve, the 1000 acre ranch is home to many exotic animals and widespread vineyards. You enter the ranch passing by zebras, camels, bison, alpacas, and much more, including the most photographed- Stanley the giraffe! This is an opportunity to experiment with this medium in small, limited classroom sizes that allow for individual attention with unlimited access to all our tools, supplies & experience.

We wrap up with a celebration at the Malibu Family Wines tasting room.
